Create A Shipping Scenario

This guide is for those using the Legacy version of Intuitive Shipping. If you’re using the New version of the app, go here.

Not sure which version you’re using? Find out here.

Shipping Scenarios allow you to assign conditions that will determine which shipping methods are available to customers based on a custom set of criteria.

If the conditions are not satisfied, the shipping methods within the Scenario will not be available to the customer at checkout.

To use Intuitive Shipping, you must have at least one (1) Shipping Scenario with at least one (1) Shipping Method.

Create A New Shipping Scenario

1) Click Shipping on the main menu, then select Scenarios from the drop-down menu.

2) Click the Add Shipping Scenario Button.

3) Under General Settings, set Visibility to On.

When Visibility is set to Off, all Shipping Methods within the Scenario will be hidden from your customers. They will only be displayed if you use the customer name ‘Intuitive Shipping’ at checkout.

4) Enter a Title for your Shipping Scenario – e.g. ‘Express Shipping’.

Shipping Scenario Titles are not visible to customers, so name them something that keeps you organized.

Assign Conditions (Optional)

Conditions are rules that determine when shipping costs will appear at checkout. Conditions are not required. If your Scenario has no rule-based requirements, skip to Add A Shipping Method.

1) Select a Condition Match to indicate which Conditions must be met. You have three (3) options to choose from:

ALL conditions below must be satisfied – this setting means that every condition in this Scenario, whether you have one or twenty, must be satisfied in order for the shipping method(s) in the Scenario to appear at checkout. This is the default setting.

Let’s say you have two conditions – one that says the cart must be greater than or equal to $75.00 and another that says the product must be tagged ‘fragile’. A customer must order at least $75.00 worth of products and must order a product tagged ‘fragile’ in order to get the shipping costs from this Scenario.

ANY condition below must be satisfied – this setting means that any single condition in this Scenario must be satisfied in order for the shipping method(s) in the Scenario to appear at checkout.

Using the same example as above, the customer can either order $75.00 worth of products or a product tagged ‘fragile’ in order to get the shipping costs from this Scenario.

NONE of the conditions below must be satisfied – this setting means that every condition must not be met in order for the shipping method(s) in the Scenario to appear at checkout.

Using the same example again, the customer must order less than $75.00 worth of products and cannot order a product tagged ‘fragile’ in order to get the shipping costs from this Scenario.

2) Select a Product Filtering option to indicate which products are included in the shipping calculation based on the Conditions. You have four (4) options to choose from:

Product Filtering is intended to work with Per Product Conditions, such as SKU, Name, Weight, Tag, etc. If you are not adding any Per Product Conditions to your Scenario, leave Product Filtering on the default setting.

Per Product Conditions apply to each unique product in the cart. Any item with a unique Product ID or Variant ID is considered a unique product.

Include products that satisfy ALL product conditions below – this setting means that only products that meet all of the Per Product Conditions will be factored into the shipping calculation. This is the default setting.

Include products that satisfy ANY product conditions below – this setting means products that meet at least one of the Per Product Conditions will be factored into the shipping calculation.

Let’s say you have a table of shipping rates that are based on the number of items in the cart:

  • Up to 1 item – $50.00
  • Up to 5 items – $30.00
  • Up to 10 items – $20.00
  • More than 10 items – free shipping

You want these rates to be calculated when products tagged ‘special’ or products that belong to your ‘Legacy’ collection are in the cart, but you only want those specific products to determine which rate is offered.

In your Scenario, you’ve added two (2) Per Product Conditions – Tag equals ‘special’ and Collection equals ‘Legacy’. When this setting is selected, a customer ordering 2 products tagged ‘special’, 3 products from the ‘Legacy’ Collection, and 6 other products will be charged $30.00 for shipping at checkout. Even though they have 11 items in the cart – which should entitle them to free shipping – only the 2 ‘special’ and 3 ‘Legacy’ items (for a total of 5 items) are included in the rate calculation.

Include products that satisfy NONE of the product conditions below – this setting means that only products that do not meet the product conditions will be factored into the shipping calculation. It can be useful when you want to offer a discounted live shipping rate on certain cart combinations.

Let’s say you have three (3) Scenarios – one for mattresses, one for bed frames, and one for all other bedding products. Mattresses cost $85.00 each to ship, regardless of what else is in the cart, while everything else ships by FedEx.

You’ve set up a Combined Shipping Method so that customers ordering mattresses and anything else will get a blended rate. For example, a customer ordering just 2 pillows might get a FedEx Overnight rate of $28.30. When they add a mattress to their cart, they get a blended rate of $113.30 ($28.30 + $85.00).

As a promotion, you want to offer a 50% discount on the FedEx portion of the shipping when a customer orders a frame and mattress together. In your ‘Bed Frames’ Scenario, you’ve changed the title to ‘Bed Frames – No Mattress’. You’ve added another Per Product Condition – Name does not contain ‘mattress‘, which is set to ‘ALL products must satisfy this condition‘. By doing this, the FedEx shipping rate in this Scenario will only be added to the Combined Shipping Method when there is at least a bed frame in the cart, but no mattresses.

And you’ve created another Scenario called ‘Bed Frames – With Mattress’, which has a -50% markdown in the shipping method. You’ve added two (2) Per Product Conditions – Name does not contain ‘frame’, which is set to ‘ANY product must satisfy this condition’, and Name contains ‘mattress’, which is also set to ‘ANY product must satisfy this condition’. By choosing this Product Filtering setting – Include products that satisfy NONE of the conditions below – the FedEx shipping rate with the -50% markdown will be calculated (without the weight of the mattress) and blended together with the flat $85.00 mattress rate.

However, if you have the Product Filtering option set to the default (‘Include products that satisfy ALL product conditions below’), the FedEx shipping method with the -50% markdown will still be used in the calculation, but it will include the weight of the mattress which could significantly increase the overall shipping rate, even with the discount applied.

Include ALL products – this setting means that every item in the cart will be factored into the shipping calculation, whether it meets the product conditions or not.

Let’s say you sell a HAZMAT or controlled product that can only ship FedEx Ground, and you want to be sure that as long as the controlled product is in the cart, only the FedEx Ground option will appear at checkout. You also want to make sure that any other items in the cart are part of the shipping rate calculation along with the HAZMAT product, and that everything can be packed together.

You’ve set up a ‘Standard’ Scenario with a shipping method that includes various UPS expedited delivery services. The Standard Scenario includes a Per Product Condition – Tag does not equal ‘hazmat’, which is set to ‘ALL products must satisfy this condition’. By doing this, every item in the cart must not be one of your HAZMAT products in order to get UPS rates at checkout.

Additionally, you’ve set up a ‘HAZMAT’ Scenario with a shipping method that includes only a FedEx Ground delivery service. The HAZMAT Scenario includes a Per Product Condition – Tag equals ‘hazmat’, which is set to ‘ANY product must satisfy this condition’. By doing this, as long as at least one item in the cart is tagged ‘hazmat’, only the FedEx Ground option will be offered.

If you have the Product Filtering option set to the default (‘Include products that satisfy ALL product conditions below’), the FedEx Ground calculation will only include the HAZMAT product – meaning, if your HAZMAT product weighs 8 lbs and your other products weigh a combined 27 lbs, the calculation will be based on 8 lbs – not 35 lbs. By choosing this Product Filtering setting – Include ALL products, the FedEx Ground calculation will now include all 35 lbs in the cart.

If any of your products have custom, per-product shipping costs – e.g. you ship bags of gravel that always cost $80.00 each to ship, regardless of what else is in the cart – you can use the setting in Advanced Options to determine if those products are included in the Conditions check or not. If you are not using per-product shipping costs, skip to Step 7.

5) Click on Advanced Options.

6) Select how Products with Custom Shipping Charges are factored into Per Product Condition checks. You have two (2) options to choose from:

INCLUDE items with per product custom shipping charges in conditions check – this setting means that any items in the cart that have been assigned per-product shipping costs will still be included in the Per Product Conditions check. This is the default setting.

EXCLUDE items with per product custom shipping charges in conditions check – this setting means that any items in the cart that have been assigned per-product shipping costs will not be included in the Per Product Conditions check.

Let’s say you want to offer free shipping on everything in your store except for ‘Luxor’ items, which have their own $50.00 custom shipping charges. You’ve set the flat shipping rate in your Shipping method to $0.00, and you’ve added a Per Product Condition to the Scenario – Name does not contain ‘Luxor’, which is set to ‘ALL products must satisfy this condition’. By doing this, every item in the customer’s cart must not have ‘Luxor’ in the product name to get free shipping.

When the EXCLUDE setting is selected, a customer ordering any number of products, including one which is ‘Luxor’, will be charged $50.00 for shipping at checkout, because the product Name Condition was excluded from the Condition check.

By comparison, if you were to change the setting back to INCLUDE, the ‘Luxor’ item would cause the cart to fail and the customer would be unable to complete their checkout.

The Products with Custom Shipping Charges setting will only work with Per Product Conditions – e.g. Tag, Name, SKU, Collection, etc. Other Condition categories – e.g Entire Cart, Customer – will be ignored.

7) Click the Add Another Condition button to add a Condition.

8) Select your Condition type and enter a value.

Conditions are the rules that determine when rates will be shown. They are grouped into categories that can be viewed by clicking the arrow beside ‘Quantity’, which is the first possible selection from the list.

Entire Cart Conditions

Entire Cart Conditions are applied to everything in the cart.

Quantity

Shipping rates will be based on the total number of items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Quantity is greater than or equal to 10 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when there are at least 10 items in the cart.

Total

Shipping rates will be based on the total value of goods in the cart. For example, a condition stating Total is less than or equal to 20 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the entire cart total (before taxes) is $20.00 (or your default currency) or less.

Currency is based on your Shopify settings. If you make changes to your default currency in Shopify, be sure to re-sync your settings with Intuitive Shipping.

Weight

Shipping rates will be based on the total weight of the items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Weight equals 15 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the entire cart weight is exactly 15 lbs (or your standard weight unit).

To change your weight unit, go to the Settings tab in Intuitive Shipping after saving your Scenario.

Volume

Shipping rates will be based on the total volume of the items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Volume is less than or equals 1000 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the entire cart volume is 1000 in³ (cubic inches – or your standard dimensional unit) or less.

To change your dimensional unit, go to the Settings tab in Intuitive Shipping after saving your Scenario.

Volume Conditions require product dimensions to be entered into Intuitive Shipping.

Distance

Shipping rates will be based on the total distance between the customer’s address and your default Shopify location. For example, a condition stating Distance is greater than or equals 50 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the customer’s address is at least 50 km’s away from your default shipping origin location in Shopify.

Shopify’s default distance unit is kilometers (km) and cannot be changed.

Distance Conditions require a Google Distance and Geocoding API key.

Filtered Cart Conditions

Filtered Cart Conditions are applied to products associated with any Per Product Conditions in the same Scenario. They are ignored if there are no Per Product Conditions in the Scenario.

Quantity

Shipping rates will be based on the total number of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Quantity is greater than or equals 10, along with a Per Product Condition stating Collection equals ‘Legacy’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when there are at least 10 items from your Legacy Collection in the cart, regardless of what other items are in the cart.

Total

Shipping rates will be based on the total value of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Total is greater than or equals 65, along with a Per Product Condition stating Tag equals ‘fragile’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when there is at least $65.00 worth of items tagged ‘fragile’ in the cart, regardless of the actual total of the entire cart.

Weight

Shipping rates will be based on the total weight of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Weight is less than or equals 20, along with a Per Product Condition stating SKU contains ‘AB’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined weight of all items in the cart containing the characters ‘AB’ in their SKU is 20 kg or less, regardless of the weight of the entire cart.

Volume

Shipping rates will be based on the total volume of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Volume is greater than or equals 5000, along with a Per Product Condition stating Name contains ‘soil’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined volume of all items in the cart containing ‘soil’ in their product name is at least 5000 cm³ (cubic centimeters), regardless of the volume of the entire cart.

Length

Shipping rates will be based on the combined length of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Length equals 250, along with a Per Product Condition stating Vendor equals Cartwright will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined length of all items from your Cartwright vendor is at least 250 cm, regardless of what other items are in the cart.

Width

Shipping rates will be based on the combined width of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Width equals 250, along with a Per Product Condition stating Vendor equals Cartwright will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined width of all items from your Cartwright vendor is at least 250 cm, regardless of what other items are in the cart.

Height

Shipping rates will be based on the combined height of filtered items in the cart. For example, a condition stating Height equals 250, along with a Per Product Condition stating Vendor equals Cartwright will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined height of all items from your Cartwright vendor is at least 250 cm, regardless of what other items are in the cart.

Per Product Conditions

Per Product Conditions that look for a numerical value – e.g. quantity, volume – apply to each unique product in the cart. Any item with a unique Product ID or Variant ID is considered a unique product.

Quantity

Shipping rates will be based on the total number of each product in the cart. For example, a condition stating Quantity is greater than or equals 2 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when there are at least 2 of each product in the cart, regardless of the actual total in the cart.

Price

Shipping rates will be based on the price of each product in the cart. For example, a condition stating Price equals 4.99 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when each unique product in the cart has an exact price of $4.99.

Total

Shipping rates will be based on the combined total of each product in the cart. For example, a condition stating Total is less than or equals 15 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined total of each unique product in the cart is $15.00 or less, regardless of the actual total in the cart.

Weight

Shipping rates will be based on the combined weight of each product in the cart. For example, a condition stating Weight is less than or equal to 5 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined weight of each unique product in the cart is 5 lbs or less, regardless of the total weight in the cart.

Volume

Shipping rates will be based on the combined volume of each product in the cart. For example, a condition stating Volume is less than or equal to 500 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined volume of each unique product in the cart is 500 in³ (cubic inches) or less, regardless of the total volume in the cart.

Length/ Width/ Height

Shipping rates will be based on the combined length – or width – or height – of each product in the cart. For example, a condition stating Length (or width or height) is equal to 25 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the combined length (or width or height) of each unique product in the cart is exactly 25 inches.

Name

Shipping rates will be based on the product name(s) in the cart. For example, a condition that states Name contains ‘shirt’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart contains ‘shirt’ in its name.

Multiple names can be added to the same Condition, using a comma to separate them.

For example, you can have a Condition that states Name contains ‘shirt, dress, shorts’. Product names for the items in the cart must contain one of the three references in the Condition.

If each reference is separated into its own Condition – meaning there are three (3) Conditions: Name contains ‘shirt’, Name contains ‘dress, and Name contains ‘shorts’, items in the cart must contain all three.

SKU

Shipping rates will be based on the product SKU(s) in the cart. For example, a condition that states SKU equals ‘AB-123’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart has the SKU ‘AB-123’.

Multiple SKUs can be added to the same Condition, using a comma to separate them.

For example, you can have a Condition that states SKU equals ‘AB-123, AB-124, AB-125’. SKUs for the items in the cart must include one of the three SKUs in the Condition.

If each SKU is separated into its own Condition – meaning there are three (3) Conditions: SKU equals ‘AB-123’, SKU equals ‘AB-124’, and SKU equals ‘AB-125’, items in the cart must have all three SKUs.

Vendor

Shipping rates will be based on the product vendor(s) in the cart. For example, a condition that states Vendor equals Worthington will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart comes from your Worthington vendor.

Multiple vendors can be added to the same Condition by putting a checkmark beside each vendor that applies.

Type

Shipping rates will be based on the product type(s) in the cart. For example, a condition that states Type equals Beverages will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart comes from your beverages product type.

Multiple types can be added to the same Condition by putting a checkmark beside each product type that applies.

Tag

Shipping rates will be based on the product tags in the cart. For example, a condition that states Tag equals ‘fragile’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart has the tag ‘fragile’.

Multiple tags can be added to the same Condition, using a comma to separate them.

For example, you can have a Condition that states Tag equals ‘fragile, glass, extra pkg’.

Intuitive Shipping does not assign tags to products. Product tags are managed in your Shopify Product settings.

Collection

Shipping rates will be based on the product collection(s) in the cart. For example, a condition that states Collection equals Furniture will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart comes from your Furniture product collection.

Multiple collections can be added to the same Condition by putting a checkmark beside each product collection that applies.

Product property

Shipping rates will be based on the indicated product property in the cart. For example, if you are using a third-party app that can assign various properties (or attributes) to products, and you have a condition that states Product property equals [your Property Key/ value], it will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when an item in the cart has those attributes.

Additional Per Product Condition Settings

Each Per Product Condition can be set to either ANY product must satisfy this condition or ALL products must satisfy this condition.

When the ‘ANY’ setting is selected, at least one product in the cart that meets the Per Product Condition will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario. For example, if you have a Per Product Condition that states Tag equals ‘hazmat’, the shipping methods will be activated if at least one of the products in the cart is tagged ‘hazmat’

When the ‘ALL’ setting is selected, every product in the cart must meet the Per Product Condition in order to activate the shipping methods in the Scenario. Using the same example as above, every product in the cart must be tagged ‘hazmat’.

Customer Conditions

Name/ Email/ Telephone/ Fax/ Company/ Address/ City

Shipping rates will be based on the customers name (or email address, phone number, fax number, company name, shipping address or city). For example, a condition that states Email contains ‘intuitiveshipping’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer with ‘intuitiveshipping’ in their email address checks out.

Postal/ Zip Code

Shipping rates will be based on the customer’s postal or ZIP code. For example, a condition that states Postal/Zip code equals 10110 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when the customer’s address includes the ZIP code 10110.

UK postcodes must include the full formatting, without spaces – e.g. ‘SE18SW’

Non-UK postal/ ZIP codes can be abbreviate to expand their range.

For example, entering the Canadian postal code prefix ‘M1N’ will include all postal codes beginning with the prefix ‘M1N’.

Postal/ ZIP codes can be entered as ranges.

For example, a range entered as ‘90001:93591‘ will include all ZIP codes for Los Angeles County.

If you need to enter multiple postal or ZIP codes or ranges, we recommend creating a sub-zone Condition Group instead of manually entering each as a Customer Postal/Zip Code Condition.

Tag

Shipping rates will be based on a tag that you assign to your customer in their Shopify customer profile. For example, a condition that states Tag equals ‘wholesale’ will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer tagged ‘wholesale’ checks out.

Number of previous orders

Shipping rates will be based on the total number of all previous orders placed by the same customer. For example, a condition that states Number of previous orders is greater than or equals 25 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer places 25 or more orders.

Previous orders include all orders placed by the customer and cannot be limited to a time or date range.

Total spend on previous orders

Shipping rates will be based on the total value of all previous orders placed by the same customer. For example, a condition that states Total spend on previous orders is less than or equals 50 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer has previously ordered $50.00 or less since their first order.

Previous order totals include all orders placed by the customer and cannot be limited to a time or date range.

Order source

Shipping rates will be based on the source of the customer’s order. Sources are:

  • Checkout – the customer placed an order in real-time on your checkout page.
  • Draft Order – an order was created by you on behalf of the customer in Shopify Orders.

For example, a condition that states Source equals Draft Order will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario only when you are creating a Draft order in Shopify Orders

Same-Day Conditions

Same-Day Conditions look at the date and time the order is actually placed.

Day of the week

Shipping rates will be based on the day(s) of the week that have been selected. For example, a condition that states Day of the week equals [Monday through Friday are checked] will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer checks out on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Date

Shipping rates will be based on the date that has been selected from the Calendar picker. For example, a condition that states Date is greater than or equals 2020-11-26 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer checks out on or after November 26th, 2020.

You can add a second Date Condition to limit shipping rates to a date range. For example, a second condition that states Date is less than or equals 2020-11-30 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer checks out between November 26th, 2020 and November 30th, 2020.

Time

Shipping rates will be based on the time of day that has been entered. For example, a condition that states Time is greater than or equals 14:00 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer checks out at or after 2:00 PM.

You can add a second Time Condition to limit shipping rates to a time range. For example, a second condition that states Time is less than or equals 23:59 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer checks out between 2:00 PM and 11:59 PM.

Time is based on the local time zone settings of your Shopify account. The customer’s local time, if different, is not applicable.

Delivery Conditions

Delivery Conditions look at the date and time the customer has selected for their delivery.

Delivery Conditions are intended for use with Store Pickup + Delivery.

Day of the week

Shipping rates will be based on the day(s) of the week that have been selected. For example, a condition that states Day of the week equals [Monday through Friday are checked] will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer selects a delivery day of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Date

Shipping rates will be based on the date that has been selected from the Calendar picker. For example, a condition that states Date is greater than or equals 2020-11-26 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer selects a delivery date on or after November 26th, 2020.

You can add a second Date Condition to limit shipping rates to a date range. For example, a second condition that states Date is less than or equals 2020-11-30 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer selects a delivery date between November 26th, 2020 and November 30th, 2020.

Time

Shipping rates will be based on the time of day that has been entered. For example, a condition that states Time is greater than or equals 14:00 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer selects a delivery time at or after 2:00 PM.

You can add a second Time Condition to limit shipping rates to a time range. For example, a second condition that states Time is less than or equals 23:59 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer selects a delivery time between 2:00 PM and 11:59 PM.

Time is based on the local time zone settings of your Shopify account. The customer’s local time, if different, is not applicable.

Day of the week, Date and Time Delivery Conditions can be used together in the same Scenario. For example, a condition that states Day of the week equals Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, a second condition that states Time is greater than or equals 12:00, and a third condition that states Time is less than or equals 17:00 will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario when a customer selects a delivery day of either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and a delivery time on one of those days between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM

Condition Groups

Condition Groups will be selectable from the Condition Groups category when you create a Condition Group – e.g. a Postal/Zip Code sub-zone. For example, if you create a sub-zone that includes postal codes you cannot ship to, and you call it ‘Excluded Zone’, a condition that states Excluded Zone does not equal True will activate the shipping methods in the Scenario only when a customer’s postal code is not in the ‘Excluded Zone’ Condition Group.

Deprecated Conditions

Deprecated Conditions are Conditions that are scheduled to be removed from the Intuitive Shipping Conditions list, but remain active for users with older setups to prevent checkout failures.

We strongly recommend against using Deprecated Conditions for new setups and encourage users with older setups to update their Scenarios to a newer Condition type.

9) To add more Conditions, click the Add Another Condition button and set the values for each.

To delete a Condition, click the Trash Can button to the right of the Condition.

Add a Shipping Method

1) Add a Shipping Method to one or more Shipping Zones.

Shipping Zones are set up in your Shopify Settings. To learn how to adjust your Shipping Zones, click here.

If there is no Shipping Method in a Shipping Zone, a customer with an address in that Zone whose cart meets the Scenario Conditions will not get a Shipping Method.

Let’s say you have a Scenario for bulky items that can only ship Ground within Canada or the US, and you have three (3) Shipping Zones synced with Intuitive Shipping – Canada, Rest of world and USA. To prevent customers outside the US and Canada from being able to check out, only add Shipping Methods to your Canada and USA Shipping Zones.

Add More Shipping Methods

To add more Shipping Methods to your Scenario, repeat the steps above to Add A Shipping Method.

Or, if you want to create a similar Shipping Method without starting from scratch, you can easily copy a Shipping Method, then make minor adjustments as needed.

Let’s say you have a live rate Shipping Method for UPS which has over 20 packages saved in the Packages section, and you want to set up a live rate Shipping Method for USPS with the same packages without re-entering all of the package dimensions:

1) Click Copy beside the Shipping Method you want to copy.

2) Assign the copy to a Shipping Zone. For example, if you’re creating a copy for a different carrier, select the same Shipping Zone using the original version.

3) Click Edit beside one of the two copies – they are identical at this point, so it doesn’t matter which one you choose.

4) Make any necessary changes to the copy – e.g. change the title and/or the carrier.

5) Save the changes.

Shipping Zones can have an unlimited number of Shipping Methods.

Create More Scenarios

Create Another New Scenario

To create additional Shipping Scenarios with different Conditions, follow the steps above to Create A New Shipping Scenario.

Create A Duplicate Scenario

If you want to create another Shipping Scenario that is similar to a Scenario you have already created but don’t want to start from scratch, you can easily duplicate a Shipping Scenario, then make minor adjustments as needed:

1) Click the Shipping menu button, then select Scenarios from the drop-down list.

2) Click on a Shipping Scenario from the list that you want to use as a template.

3) Click the Duplicate button.

Clicking the Duplicate button automatically brings you to the new duplicated version of the Shipping Scenario.

4) Change the Title, then make other changes as needed.

Making changes to the duplicate Shipping Scenario will not change or overwrite the original Shipping Scenario used to make the duplicate.

Save Your Settings

Click the Save button!

Nicely Done!
You just created a Shipping Scenario!
